Jerry Schneider
Vice Chair
Jerry Schneider has been at the forefront of advocacy for Ascot Hills Park for more than two decades. Jerry has led the Green Team since its founding in 2011 and drafted the Framework Plan, which provides an ecological blueprint for wildlife habitat restoration and long-term park stewardship. Together with his wife Gloria, he founded Friends of Ascot Hills Park and has donated tens of thousands of dollars to the park for everything from signage to restoration materials. As one of the original advocates for opening the park to the public, Jerry’s leadership and commitment continue to shape the park’s growth, restoration, and community impact. -

Community-Driven Stewardship for a Thriving Urban Wilderness
The Ascot Hills Park Advisory Board (PAB) is a dedicated group of volunteers committed to preserving and enhancing Ascot Hills Park. Composed of local residents, business members, and park enthusiasts, the PAB works in partnership with the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, North East Trees, Council District 14, and other stakeholders to ensure the park remains a vital community resource.
What the PAB Does
The PAB leads efforts to protect, restore, and program the park, ensuring that projects align with community needs and conservation goals. Their key initiatives include:
Developing the Ascot Hills Park Framework Plan, which outlines long-term park management, habitat restoration, and public programming.
Leading restoration projects, such as invasive species removal, native plant restoration, and wildfire prevention.
Planning educational and recreational programs that engage schools, volunteers, and local organizations.
Reviewing and approving park use permits to ensure activities align with conservation efforts.
Overseeing community events, such as nature walks, clean-up days, and cultural celebrations.
Creating and maintaining this website, a community-driven resource for park updates, events, and volunteer opportunities.
The PAB’s Role in Park Restoration & Sustainability
The PAB developed the Ascot Hills Park Framework Plan to ensure restoration happens in carefully planned phases. The plan guides habitat management, trail maintenance, educational programming, and long-term sustainability efforts.
